5 Academic Engagement

Managing Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems, since 2024

  • Initial editorial screening of all new manuscript submissions (approx. 1,000 per year), and allocation of those manuscripts to Senior Editors (SEs)
  • Pioneered process improvements (structured record-keeping, workload management, and fraud detection) using business analytics techniques
  • Developed a social media presence strategy, in close collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief, the publisher (Taylor & Francis), and the owner of the journal (The OR Society)

Ten Minute IS Papers (TMISP) (www.tmisp.org), since 2020

  • In 2020, I launched a podcast where I summarise IS research papers in 10 minutes or less. I figured that this would be beneficial for my own awareness of the latest research as well as providing a useful resource for other members of the IS scholarly community.
  • This podcast has 223 followers on Spotify and has been identified in an ICIS 2022 paper about prominent podcasts of the IS scholarly community (Anton et al., 2022) (link).
